Arlington, Va., August 13, 2012
The March of Dimes and AFCEA NOVA today announced Sabret Flocos and Casey Coleman as the co-chairs for the 12th Annual Heroines in Technology Awards Gala. The event will honor the significant contributions of women from Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia in the technology industry who exemplify leadership in volunteer community service.
Flocos is a founding partner for FOX Architects and currently serves on the March of Dimes National Capital Area Board of Directors. Coleman is a career federal executive and a leader in the federal IT community.
The 2012 Heroines in Technology finalists will be recognized at the black-tie gala on November 9, 2012, at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. Winners will be announced that evening and will join the more than 67 women recognized over the awards history.
“I am thrilled to work with the March of Dimes, AFCEA NOVA and other program supporters to honor the outstanding women who are making a difference in our community,” said Sabret Flocos, Heroines in Technology 2012 gala co-chair.
The proceeds from the evening will support local March of Dimes programs around research, community services, education and advocacy. Since 2001, the event has raised over $1.4 million to support the March of Dimes mission of saving babies.
