Roselaine Charlucien-Koech wins Nurse of The Year Award

West Roxbury Education Complex Nurse Wins in Community Health/Public Health Category

    Natick, MA, December 03, 2012 —

Roselaine works in Health Services at West Roxbury Education Complex (Boston Public Schools). She has been making a positive impact for 24 years. She currently handles daily skilled nursing care, emergency care, medications administration and also provides case management support to families with complex medical needs.

Some of the highlights of her career include creating the "Healthy Connection," a peer-mentoring program that helped immigrant students adjust to a new environment and a new school. In 2010, she assembled a wellness team composed of an administrator, teachers, and students and worked with The Alliance for a Healthier Generation's Healthy Schools Program in order to improve nutrition services and physical activity for staff and students. She also helped create  "Westie Wellness," a program which earned national recognition.

Roselaine has made a significant impact throughout her career by using her enthusiasm to inspire peers to reach for higher goals. She believes in working together around a common idea to bring positive impact. Her peers agree that she challenges the status quo and puts her  beliefs into practice by bringing forth ideas.
