The 35th annual Nantucket Telerama will be broadcast from 11AM to 10PM on TV17 and Comcast Channel 18 on September 21, 2008. It involves hundreds of volunteers who run the cameras, direct the show, put up the lighting and man the pledge phones. There is local entertainment twice an hour, and a different civic or business group take pledges over the phones every hour. There is a gift table and Islanders can call up and get the item if they have the highest bid of the hour.
