Prematurity Campaign in Massachusetts
Prematurity is the leading cause of infant mortality in Massachusetts and increases a child’s risk of developing health problems including cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning disabilities, asthma, blindness and hearing loss. The March of Dimes is dedicated to funding research which investigates the causes of prematurity, infant mortality, and birth defects. Programs focus on education about the signs of preterm labor and research into the causes. |
