| Staff, families and volunteers will deliver pies to District of Columbia Council members during the annual March of Dimes Motherhood and Apple Pie Day at 10 a.m. Sept. 26 at the Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave., NW. The group will thank council members for expanding newborn screening in the District and request an increase in funding for counseling for families whose children are identified with a disorder. The group will also thank the council for its efforts to make the District a smoke-free city. To participate, send an e-mail to Dona Dei at ddei@marchofdimes.com. |

The Advocacy Network is made up of volunteers and staff who promote the March of Dimes mission agenda by contacting the governor and state legislators (Virginia) and the mayor and District Council members (District of Columbia) in response to Chapter action alerts. This year's issues and priorities include those described above. |
