Prominent Chefs are Stars of November 11 March of Dimes Benefit.

Several of southeast Michigan’s most prominent chefs are joining forces to help the March of Dimes save babies as part of Star Chefs presented by SYSCO Detroit, Monday, November 11 at the Detroit Marriott Pontiac at Centerpoint.  Proceeds raised by the event will support March of Dimes efforts to save babies through programs of research, community service, advocacy and education.


Tickets are $100, which entitles people to sample a variety of dishes, enjoy the ambience of the Detroit Marriott Pontiac at Centerpoint and bid on unique and exciting food-related auction packages donated by participating chefs.  Among those chefs:

  • Chefs Carlos Bonilla and Marco Chavez of Agave
  • Chef Mark Pautuk of Carl's Chophouse
  • Chef Tim Enfield of Food for All Seasons
  • Chef Ali Majed of the Parkway Grille at the Marriott Centerpoint
  • Chef Anthony Middlebrook of Venti Uno at the MGM Grand Detroit Casino
  • Chef Jeff Evans of Steve & Rocky's
  • Chef Lorraine Platman of Sweet Lorraine's Café & Bar 
  • Chef Jim Barnett of Morels A Michigan Bistro
  • Chef Tim Cikra of Weight Watchers
  • Chef Marc Zalewski and Brad Smith of the Gatehouse Grille

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality.  Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, communities service, education and advocacy to save babies.  More information is available on the March of Dimes Website.
