SportClips Haircuts to donate proceeds to the March of Dimes on April 19th
Sterling Heights Location to Raise Funds for Health of Babies

(Sterling Heights/Port Huron MI, April, 2008)—Premature babies, like Matthew & Ryan, need hope, love and you. With your help we will see the day when every baby is born healthy and full term.  On Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. SportClips Haircuts in Sterling Heights (near Lakeside Mall) will donate all proceeds from walk-ins only to Matthew & Ryan’s March for Babies team.

The mission priority of the March of Dimes is to fight the growing crisis of prematurity.   Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and we are committed to reducing its toll.  By engaging more people in our mission, and educating more pregnant women and moms about healthy babies, we hope to reach that goal much sooner.

“The first SportClips Haircuts was opened in 1993 in Georgetown, Texas by Founder and CEO, Gordon Logan, who always had a history of giving back to the community, said Tod Connolly of SportClips Haircuts.  “Our organizations affiliations include Official haircutter of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars).”  The Texas-based franchise cuts men and boys hair in sports-saturated surroundings. That means stores decked out in sports memorabilia, TV’s in the waiting area and by each chair playing sports.  Stylists cutting men and boy’s hair

“By donating to the March of Dimes you help fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies, said March of Dimes volunteer Jackie Grant.”  In Michigan funds raised by March for Babies supports community grant programs, NICU programs, NICU Family Support, community projects for high risk women and educational awareness campaigns.
