BIKERS “REV UP” FOR BABIES
March of Dimes Bikers for Babies To Hit the Road

GRAND RAPIDS, MI. August 1, 2008—In West Michigan, Bikers for Babies will take place on Sunday, September 14 at Knoll-Gas MotorSports Park in Martin to help give every baby a healthy start in life. 
Individual riders as well as members of clubs can join to help fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies.  Last year, over 500 residents participated, raising over $52,000.  In Grand Rapids, funds raised by Bikers for Babies supports local programs of community services, education and advocacy to help save babies.
According to Mike Norton, Bikers for Babies #1 Michigan fundraiser, “When you are at the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies, you really get that the folks there understand it’s for the babies.”
Christian Frank, FOX 17 News Anchor and Bikers for Babies Chair in Grand Rapids says, “You can really feel the power when you see and hear all those motorcycles lined up, lots of familiar and new faces, all coming together to show their support. I look forward to sharing this year’s experience with my family and friends again.”
Participants will enjoy a 70-mile route that begins and ends at Knoll-Gas MotorSports Park. Upon returning from the ride, riders will enjoy lunch, music, popular vendors and a unique silent auction. One attractive silent auction package will include the official movie standee for recent blockbuster The Dark Knight. Riders will also enjoy the Ride-In Bike Show and Unlimited Drag Racing that will take place on the track.

Millions of babies have been saved from death or disability thanks to advances made by March of Dimes-funded scientists. But, still, too many babies are born prematurely or with birth defects. Every year, thousands of compassionate motorcyclists across the country show they care by taking part in Bikers for Babies, sponsored nationally by Farmers Insurance Group and Foremost Insurance.
