2nd Annual Preconception Conference: Reaching Underserved Populations
Brooklyn Center

This conference will present culturally appropriate strategies and messages to improve preconception and interconception care for underserved populations such as racial and ethnic minority populations, American Indians, teens, and low income women. The long-term goal of the conference is to achieve comprehensive, integrated health care for all Minnesota women of reproductive age, while the near-term goal is to advance Minnesota’s healthcare system further towards such integrated care for all populations.

Featuring national speakers, Hani Atrash from the Centers for Disease Control and Phyllis Williams-Thompson from the National office of the March of Dimes as well as many prominent local speakers.  Topics will include: the role of preconception health and health care, reframing and marketing preconception health to diverse communities, cultural strategy sessions and opportunities to integrate preconception care and family planning into everyday practice.
