March for Babies - St. Cloud 2013

Join your friends, family and co-workers in St. Cloud and march for healthy babies! When you walk, you give hope to the babies born too soon or sick. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies, and it funds research to find answers to the serious problems that threaten our babies.
Leading the charge in Minnesota is our March for Babies Chair Lawrence Massa, President and CEO of the Minnesota Hospital Association. MHA and its 144 hospital and hospital system members work each day to provide quality care for patients and meet the needs of communities in every corner of Minnesota. Lorry and his team are encouraging everyone to be their best for babies in 2013.
Meet our Ambassador Family
For Kerry and Todd Olson of Swanville, Minnesota, expecting twins was the joy of their lives. One morning last September, it all changed. Kerry’s water broke for one of the twins at 17 weeks gestation. For the next seven weeks, Kerry and the babies beat all of the odds. Every day of continued pregnancy was a milestone.
On the morning of November 3, 2011, Kerry and Todd, along with a team of about 30 medical professionals at St. Cloud Hospital, delivered their twins, Jacob Todd and Eleanor Ann at 23 weeks, 6 days.
Jake weighed 1 pound, 3 ounces. His lungs were underdeveloped and he lived just 12 hours. Eleanor developed an infection and survived just three days.
Kerry and Todd walk in the March for Babies so other families won’t have to experience the loss they went through. March of Dimes Nobel Prize-winning research offers hope of treatments and preventions for serious health problems, like birth defects and premature birth.
“As part of the healing process, we wanted to find a way to honor our baby angels,” said Kerry. “We decided to get involved with the March of Dimes. Please help us support this important cause.”
There are plenty of opportunities for day-of-event exposure, activation and education - not to mention opportunities to meet hundreds of others who are just like you!
