2009 Prematurity Medical Summit/Radio Broadcasters for Babies
St. Louis Hilton at the Ballpark
The March of Dimes Missouri Chapter's annual Prematurity Summit involves both national and local experts on prematurity issues. It provides an ideal environment for tackling the epidemic of premature birth, which touches 540,000 babies each year. Missouri's preterm birth rate of 12.5% is below the national average, but we need to work as a community to lower it further for the health of all babies.
If you're in the health , education, business, insurance, or public policy fields, this summit is for you!
CEUs are available.
Keynote Speaker: Brian M. Mercer, MD, Case Western Reserve University - The Consequences of Early and Late Preterm Birth: Can they Be Avoided?
Invited: Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, St. Louis Mayor, Francis Slay
The Summit will be held in conjunction with the 7th annual Broadcasters for Babies featuring 19 radio stations broadcasting from the Ballpark Hilton about issues surrounding premature birth. See your favorite radio personalities including John Brown, Julie Buck, Big Mike Chambers, Kelly Corday, Donnie Fandango, Van Lorenz, Bo Matthews, Radio Rich, and more.
While these personalities and stations compete with each other 364 days a year, they cooperate on one day ... to advance the cause of healthy babies. Broadcasts will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
