NICU Family Support
March of Dimes NICU Family Support was developed and launched in 2001 in three model sites to respond to the emotional and informational needs of families during the NICU hospitalization, during the transition home and in the event of a newborn death.  March of Dimes brought NICU Family Support to St. Louis in Spring 2007, partnering with St. Louis Children's Hospital.  NICU families receive books and have the opportunity to view videos that provide information about the NICU experience, and receive direct services that provide emotional support within the NICU setting.

Some services being provided through NICU Family Support include:

  • A Sibling Education Group
  • A Scrapbooking night for NICU parents to process their emotions in a creative and meaningful way
  • Guest Speaker Series
  • Family Photo Shoots in the NICU
  • Parent to Parent Support
  • Family Information Meetings or Parent Hours
