Folic Acid






What is Folic Acid and why do women of child bearing age need it?
Folic acid is a vitamin supliment in the vitamin B family. The recommended amount is 400 mcg daily BEFORE and during pregnacy. Folic acid can be found in multivitamins as well as the following foods: green leavy vegetables, beans, orange juice, broccoli and others.

The March of Dimes stongly advocated for fortification of the U.S. grain supply with folic acid.
