Coming of the Blessing
Throughout Nevada

The Coming of the Blessing: A Pathway to a Healthy Pregnancy is a March of Dimes program that targets Native American and Alaskan Native families based upon the American Indian symbol of the Medicine Wheel to describe the cycle of pregnancy. 

Carol Arnold, RN, PhD will be presenting on Tobacco, Alcohol and Drug Use in Childbearing Families along with explaining the curriculum of The Coming of the Blessing.  Dr. Arnold is currently Assistant Professor at the Texas Woman's University.  She is a member of the March of Dimes Western Region Program Serivce Committee and was Chair of the subcommittee that developed the Coming of the Blessing program.

Dr. Arnold will be presenting in person at the University of Reno Cooperative Extension in Reno.  The presentation will be video-conference to Carson City, Elko and Las Vegas:

  • Carson City - Carson State Health Division: 4150 Technology Way Ste 303
  • Elko - Cooperative Extension and School of Medicine (same building): 701 Walnut St.
  • Las Vegas - University of Nevada CooperativeExtension: 8050 Paradise Rd

 

All participants will be provided all curriculum materials at no charge.  Nurses attending will also receive 5.3 continung education credits.
