Women's Health Symposium: Pregnancy and Beyond

March of Dimes Nevada Chapter will be hosting the "Women’s Health Symposium: Pregnancy and Beyond" Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The symposium is designed to educate health care providers on the most common causes of infant mortality and birth defects. The symposium brings together experts in obstetrics, neonatal care and pediatrics to share information and ideas for improved prenatal outcomes.
Major emphasis will be placed on prematurity and low birthweight delivery as major causes of infant mortality and long term morbidity. We will explore the causes of prematurity as well as opportunities for prevention. Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based interventions, treatment modalities and quality improvement.
