2008 Premature Birth Report Card for Nevada
The U.S. is failing hundreds of thousands of its youngest citizens on the day they are born, according to March of Dimes.
CHAPTER GRANTS
Each year, local March of Dimes chapters award grants to external organizations across the state in order to address unmet maternal and infant health needs.

March of Dimes Nevada Chapter will be hosting the "quot;Women’s Health Symposium: Pregnancy and Beyond"quot;. The symposium is designed to educate health care providers on the most common causes of infant mortality and birth defects.

Nevada's immunization rate is 63 percent and rising for children by age 2. Our state has also made great strides in immunizing our adolescents, and is continuously working to improve our adult immunization rates.

Board approves increasing birth certificate fee for cystic fibrosis screening
The Nevada State Board of Health approved revising the fee for birth certificates; an increase of $6 that will cover the cost of cystic fibrosis testing and medical clinics to treat cystic fibrosis patients.
