New Hampshire Advocacy Issues and Priorities
  • Raise public awareness of prematurity, reduce rates of preterm birth, and increase research to find the causes of premature births, through our Prematurity Campaign.
  • Expand newborn screening from 6 to 9 tests in NH, including universal screening for hemoglobinopathies (screening for sickle cell disease).
  • Continue efforts to develop a comprehensive Birth Defects Surveillance Program in NH.
  • Increase access to health care coverage for women and children in NH.
  • Focus national attention on prematurity and issues of maternal and infant health during the NH Primary.
Advocacy Network
The Advocacy Network is made up of volunteers and staff who promote the March of Dimes mission agenda by contacting the governor and state legislators in response to Chapter action alerts. This year's issues and priorities include those described above.
Public Policy Research
One of the responsibilities of the March of Dimes Office of Government Affairs is to direct public policy studies that support national and Chapter advocacy priorities.
