| Recognizing November as Prematurity Awareness Month®, the March of Dimes continues to lead the fight against the more than half a million premature births that occur in this country every year - and other serious threats to newborn health. Prematurity is the number one killer of newborns. In fact, each year, 14,293 babies in New Jersey suffer the consequences of being born too soon.
There are many things that you can do right here in New Jersey to help:

- Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper
- Put an article in your company newsletter
- Ask your town to proclaim Novmber Prematurity Awareness Month
- Send email messages
- Host a Prematurity Awareness Party to raise funds for the March of Dimes
- Get your school involved in fundraising and awareness events
- Light up your school or local landmark
- Get your House of Worship involved
