Why Support the March of Dimes?

For 65 years, the March of Dimes has depended on the generosity of people like you to carry out its mission of preventing infant mortality and birth defects. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.
Here are just a few ways you can get involved:
- Help plan fundraising events, including selling tickets, securing sponsorship and auction items
- Write program grants; attend health fairs as a representative of the March of Dimes; or be trained as a volunteer speaker (English or Spanish) for educational sessions on prenatal care
- Become active in legislative activities concerning mothers and babies by being a member of our advocacy network; write letters and make phone calls to legislators; or serve on our public affairs committee
- Help build public awareness of the mission of the March of Dimes by writing press releases, pitching story angles to the media and helping to indentify and secure media sponsors
- Help with phone calls, mailings or clerical tasks in the March of Dimes office
- Help at local events such as March for Babies.

| Funds for March of Dimes research, education, advocacy and community programs are generated through fundraising events. Participants purchase tickets to dinners, awards programs or solicit donations from friends and associates for events like March for Babies, Ride, and Signature Chefs.
