13-Feb-06

The Mercer County Chain Reaction Youth Council received March of Dimes National Fundraising Award for 2005 for their annual multi-cultural event called “Rangeela.”  Rangeela, which means colors, is an night of entertainment and dining from cultures world wide.

The National Fundraising Award award is given to a volunteer or volunteer group with the most innovative and lucrative fundraising project.  Rangeela, was selected among all the fundraising projects in the United States because it has reached thousands of people and raised nearly $100,000.

The March of Dimes Chain Reaction Youth Council focuses on developing the leadership skills of middle and high school students while supporting the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
