Empire State Building Turns Purple For Premature Babies

The Empire State Building was lit purple today in recognition of the 7th Annual Prematurity Awareness Month in November. During Prematurity Awareness Month, the March of Dimes focuses the nation’s attention on the growing crisis of premature birth (birth before 37 completed weeks gestation).
The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies®, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
