BEVERLY HILLS, CA (FEB. 26, 2010) -- The March of Dimes hosted a Black History Month breakfast at the Four Season Hotel here for celebrity volunteers, corporate supporters, and national service partners to discuss the alarming rates of premature birth in the African-American community. Lisa Leslie, expectant mom, retired WNBA/LA Sparks player, and March of Dimes volunteer (first row, second from left) was joined by fellow March of Dimes volunteers Rachel Bervell, National Youth Council member, Harvard College; Densel Fleming, March of Dimes ambassador father; Chef Rahman “Rock” Harper, Hell’s Kitchen winner; Faye McClure, Director of Strategic Marketing, Farmer’s Insurance; Aonika Laurent Thomas, actress; Sean Patrick Thomas, actor; and Camille Winbush, actress (Secret Life of the American Teenager) and March of Dimes Youth Volunteer. Leaders of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority; and Top Ladies & Top Teens of Distinction are also shown. These guests and others shared their personal stories and connection to March of Dimes efforts to give every baby a healthy start in life.
