WHITE PLAINS, NY, JAN. 10, 2012 -- Farmers Insurance is making it very easy for the public to help give premature babies a fighting chance at life. Between now and January 29, Farmers will donate $10 (up to $25,000) to March of Dimes for each new fan who “likes” the Farmers Insurance Open on Facebook. Farmers is kicking off 2012 by utilizing its high profile golf tournament, taking place January 23-29 in Torrey Pines San Diego, California, to help raise funds for an organization that does so much good for so many families. A supporter of March of Dimes for 25 years, in 2011 alone Farmers Insurance raised $4.9 million for the March of Dimes. “With a following of 2.4 million on the Farmers Insurance corporate page, when combined with the PGA TOUR and March of Dimes social media outlets, this initiative has great potential to reach millions,” says Douglas A. Staples, senior vice president for Strategic Marketing & Communications at the March of Dimes.
