Family photo shoots at the Albany Medical Center NICU Family Support (AMC-NFS) are a major success with at least nine families attending per session. During this period, we had our biggest family photo shoot yet, serving 15 families in one day. Photos in the NICU are sometimes the only memoirs parents take home of their infants.
The March of Dimes NICU Family Support Specialist is also developing a staff training opportunity with our National office and moving a video education project toward the launching pad. The video is a 7-9 minute virtual tour of the AMC-NFS on DVD and is designed to introduce parents to the NICU who are unable to visit prior to the birth of their baby, or who are left behind at their hospital as their baby is transported to AMC.
