The March of Dimes is a leader and pioneer in the fight to save babies. We have an outstanding track record of success and we are prepared to accomplish even greater things in the future to solve the problems of prematurity, birth defects, and low birthweight.		  

New York State Chapter Ambassador Program

The March of Dimes Ambassador Family Program is a year-round effort that helps put a face on the March of Dimes mission…the face of a child who was saved by March of Dimes research, programs or educational campaigns designed to improve infant health outcomes.


Ambassador families inspire and mobilize people in their communities by sharing their personal stories and telling how the March of Dimes has touched their lives. They are living proof of how the money raised really does save the lives of local babies.

Get Involved with us in New York State!

Since its beginning, the March of Dimes has depended on the generosity of people like you to carry out its mission of saving babies. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.

Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

Raise money for March for Babies and Bikers for Babies.
Signature Chefs Auction or Celebrity Golf Tournaments.
Take part in community programs in New York State that are sponsored by the March of Dimes.

Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.  Currently we need the following volunteers:          

Communications: Seeking communications professionals to help with marketing communications/public relations planning, graphic design and layout, writing, editing and proofreading, and media planning. Variety of short and long-term positions available to assist with projects to build awareness of the March of Dimes mission and materials to support fundraising events. Some on-site meetings may be required, but work may be completed outside of the March of Dimes office. Please reply by e-mail: dschrader@marchofdimes.com.  


Program Services: Seeking professionals statewide to serve on our Program Services Committees. Individuals with maternal child health, public health, rural health, social work, and/or grant writing experience needed to assist with advancing March of Dimes mission in New York. Activities include grant reviews, outreach and awareness activities, healthcare education efforts, and more.   If interested, contact us by e-mail: nandino@marchofdimes.com.

March for Babies Planning Committees: Volunteers are needed in communities all across the state to sell sponsorship opportunities, recruit volunteers and new teams, and to plan and implement kickoffs, rallies and walk day activities.  E-mail: lsanderson@marchofdimes.com.

Special Event Volunteers: There are many opportunities available for involvement with Bikers for Babies, Signature Chefs Auctions, Real Estate Awards, Gourmet Gala and Celebrity Golf Tournaments. To join one of the planning committees or help the day of an event, please e-mail us for more information.

Graphic Designers:  We need a graphic designer who can modify files created with InDesign and other Adobe programs. Also looking for someone who would like to create newsletters, ads and collateral materials.

Participate

Funds for March of Dimes research, education, advocacy and community programs are generated through fundraising events. Participants purchase tickets to dinners, awards programs or solicit donations from friends and associates for events like March for Babies, Bikers for Babies, and Signature Chefs Auction, just to name a few.

Partner

Several clubs and organizations partner with the March of Dimes to help further our mission. These groups participate in fundraising events and program activities that reach out to the community. Sponsorship of March of Dimes events and programs promotes a positive corporate image, which supports marketing and sales goals. When you partner with the March of Dimes, you're associating your name/product with an organization whose reputation, history and accomplishments stand alone.

You can still donate to an event even though it's over. Certain events accept continuous donations.
