Dr. Raymond L. Cox, MD, MBA, a nationally recognized OB/GYN will hold three dialogues on eliminating Health Disparities
Syracuse, N.Y., October 5, 2009 –– Over 300 community members, health and human service providers and physicians, residents, interns, nurses and other clinicians will be joining the March of Dimes at the CNY Community Forum on Health Disparities on November 5 and 6, 2009.
Dr. Raymond L. Cox, MD, MBA Chair, OB/GYN St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, Md., has a long-term commitment and focus on delivering high-quality health care to underserved women and their infants.. In addition to having served as chairman of American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologist’s (ACOG) Committee on the Health Care of Underserved Women, he also serves on ACOG’s Patient Safety Committee and is the chair of the Maryland Patient Safety Center Perinatal Collaborative, a 27-hospital state-wide initiative to improve the processes and outcomes in maternal and child health. Dr. Cox has served on the Board of the National Perinatal Information Center/Quality Analytic services since 2008. He also Chairs the March of Dimes Public Affairs Committee for Maryland and serves on the Perinatal Steering Committee for Ascension Health. Dr. Cox was recently recognized as a HealthCare Hero by the Baltimore Daily Record.
These free events will begin on November 5, 2009, where Dr. Cox will hold a community dialogue with 100 community members. The event will be held at the McKinley Brighton School from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
On November 6, 2009, Dr. Cox will present OB/GYN Grand Rounds at Marley Educational Center starting at 7:30 AM. His final presentation will be to 100 health and human service providers at the Syracuse University Goldstein Student Center from 12 Noon – 2 PM.
