Alcohol in the Womb

"Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders" (FASD) is an umbrella term describing the range of effects that can occur in an individual whose mother drank alcohol during her pregnancy. These effects may include physical, mental, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities with possible lifelong implications.

Participants will be able to:

*  Describe the causes and symptoms of FASD

*  Explain the risks of drinking alcohol during pregnancy

*  Learn about recent research of FASD

*  Identify and practice techniques for working with women with risky alcohol drinking behaviors

*  Become familiar with interventions to help individuals affected by FASD
