About the Chapter Community Grants Program
The chapter community grants program is designed to invest in priority projects that further the March of Dimes mission, support national and state objectives, and further our strategic goal of reducing disparities in birth outcomes. Proposals will be accepted from organizations with the capacity, competence and experience to accomplish project goals and objectives through one of the following strategies:

Increasing access to and quality of health care for women and infants |

Increasing availability of prevention services |
 |
Increasing availability of genetics services and folic acid education |
2012 CHAPTER COMMUNITY GRANTS
The North Carolina Chapter Grant Program is designed to invest in projects that will further the Foundation’s mission of improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The Community Grants Program funds projects up to $50,000, with an average of $20,000 per grant. The process begins with a Letter of Intent which outlines your project. Instructions for its format and content are in our Request for Proposal brochure below. Please read the entire Request for Proposal carefully as it outlines the grant process and gives specific details about our funding priorities.

2012 COMMUNITY AWARDS
Community Award applications due July 22, 2011, by 4:00 p.m.
The goal of the community awards program is to identify and fund community-based programs addressing the health concerns of pregnant women and infants in the state of North Carolina. Awards may be granted up to $3,000. Community Awards can be made to support activities such as: purchase and distribution of March of Dimes health education materials, implementation of March of Dimes community programs (e.g. Stork's Nest® and Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien®) or a conference for health professionals.
