2009 Triangle March for Babies
Research Triangle Park, NC
March for Babies is the March of Dimes premier fundraising event that benefits all babies. Started in 1970, it’s the original walking event, raising money to fund important research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and give hope to the families of babies born too soon or sick.
Last year, the 2008 Triangle March for Babies had 6,000 participants that raised over $525,000.
This year, the 2009 March for Babies Chairman, Dr. Haywood L. Brown from Duke University Medical Center, and over 150 of the Triangle’s businesses and organizations will help raise $600,000. This year’s event is projected to be the Triangle’s biggest and best March for Babies to date!
The walk route is five kilometers (3.1 miles). The walk (approximately one hour for an average adult at a steady pace) will go fast! There are plenty of Spirit Stations along the way to provide walkers with great refreshments, entertainment and many other surprises!
