Great Chefs of the Triangle
Raleigh, NC
A high profile event that pays tribute to the culinary excellence of prominent chefs and caterers from the Triangle area, while raising significant revenue to help give every baby a healthy start. Local chefs and caterers present their signature dish in tasting-size portions during a cocktail reception and silent auction enjoyed by more than 250 guests. A live auction follows with packages that may include unique dinners, hotel stays and weekend getaways that are put together by the chefs, as well as a Fund the Mission segment where the mission of the March of Dimes is highlighted.
About the March of Dimes Chef Liaison: Owner/Executive Chef Adam Smith of Restaurant Eden, Durham, NC
Executive Chef Adam Smith began working in the food service industry at the age of 14 washing dishes at a breakfast diner. During those early years he worked alongside chefs who kept no secrets and who gave him the foundation to build a solid culinary career. Hard work, dedication and a passion for food paved the way for a rewarding career. Executive Chef Smith has taken his dream to the next level and opened his own restaurant, Restaurant Eden in Durham. A member of the American Culinary Federation through the Triangle Chef’s Association in Raleigh since 1999, Adam is classically trained in Modern American, Greek, Italian and French cuisines. He has participated in Great Chefs of the Triangle for over four years, and is the March of Dimes Chef Liaison for the Triangle for the second year in a row. He enjoys competition because it allows him to use his creativity and sharpen his skills. Through the Great Chefs of the Triangle, he not only has been able to compete and win, but over the last four years, has become a true Champion for Babies, supporting the mission of the March of Dimes. Chef Smith spends time away from work with his nephew, Grayson, fishing and cooking for friends and family.
