In its 16th year, Fayetteville’s Signature Chefs Auction was a record-breaking event, raising over $92,000 for the March of Dimes, and our mission, to save babies! Over 350 people filled the Holiday Inn Bordeaux on October 11, 2007 to pay tribute to the culinary excellence of 21 local chefs and caterers. A lively auction was one of the many highlights of the evening including weekend getaways, jewelry and packages for the sports enthusiast. Dr. Myron Strickland was the high bidder for the Richard Petty Driving Experience in Concord, NC which included a round trip private air service from Fayetteville to Concord and dinner for four at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Other packages included a one week stay at the Islander Villa Resort in Ocean Isle Beach and a weekend getaway at Figure Eight Island. During the evening, a video was shown of the Ambassador Family and the journey their twins, Darin and Drake, have taken and their struggles in the NICU. After the video, Davin Schmidt thanked everyone for being there and for their continued support if the March of Dimes. |
