The “Celebrating Contributions to Charlotte” award was established in 2005 by the Greater Piedmont Division of the March of Dimes to honor a member of the business community who has demonstrated a long history of service and has contributed greatly to the City of Charlotte. Recipients are chosen for their outstanding leadership and vision in the community.

This year the March of Dimes is proud to honor Ms. Linda Lockman-Brooks, founder of Lockman-Brooks Marketing Services, for the impact she has made on the Charlotte business community. Linda has leveraged her communications expertise, business management experience and relationship building skills to provide services ranging from marketing strategy design & development all the way to leadership coaching and multicultural marketing. Civic engagement is also a core value for Linda, serving as the current Chair of the Board of the Arts & Science Council and having also served as Board Chair of the YWCA of the Central Carolinas and the Children’s Theater of Charlotte. We are also thrilled to have Ms. Jennifer Appleby, President/Chief Creative Officer of Wray Ward as the Event Chair.
