Joe and Meagan Jurevicius

Volunteers Make A Difference

Cleveland native and local hero, former professional football player Joe Jurevicius and his wife Meagan are tremendous volunteers for the March of Dimes. They are passionate about preventing genetic disorders, birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

After the loss of their infant son, Michael, from a neurodegenerative disease, Joe and Meagan joined the March of Dimes in an effort to help other families avoid what they have experienced.

“Joe and Meagan are two very strong and special people, to be in the public eye and put themselves out there with their personal story is truly remarkable and heartwarming”, said Scott Sterneckert, Executive Director of the Northeast Ohio March of Dimes. “They are always willing to assist and lend a hand to support the mission of the March of Dimes”.

Meagan and Joe have spearheaded initiatives to provide comfort and support to families with tiny babies in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Through their efforts, the Jurevicius’ and their families have raised a significant amount of money, by participating in March for Babies, serving as Honorary Chairs of the Cleveland Signature Chefs event, and raising additional money to Fund the Mission. “No baby should have to begin their life, fighting to keep it”, said Joe during a very personal Public Service Announcement.

A public and yet very private couple with two young girls, Joe and Meagan are truly volunteers making a difference. The March of Dimes would like to thank Joe and Meagan for their unconditional support.

Thank you Ohio Magazine for sponsoring our Volunteer Spotlight
