| Rise Above the Competition
The competition to get into college and find a new job is stronger than ever. In the past, good grades and recommendations would have been enough to land you the job of your dreams or help you get into your first choice college. But nowadays, employers and college admission boards are looking for something that sets you apart from the hundreds and thousands of other applications and resumes they receive every year. Have you ever stopped to consider, what makes you stand out from other smart and high-achieving students (not counting what your mom and dad think)? The McConnell Foundation Scholarship Program states that “volunteer work and giving back to your community through community service are great ways to show college and university admissions officers that you are a well-rounded, motivated person.”
The March of Dimes provides numerous opportunities for students of all ages to get involved with their community. These opportunities range from collecting donations to participating on Executive Boards to office internships. There are also many March of Dimes Youth leadership roles made possible through clubs and Youth on Board positions. Below is a list of the current March of Dimes clubs throughout the state.
