Dr. Chris Hayes presents March of Dimes testimony at Ohio Statehouse
Columbus, OH  -- On April 12, Dr. Chris Hayes, Family Teams Chair on the Ohio Chapter’s  State Executive Committee presented March of Dimes testimony before the Ohio House Finance: Health and Human Services Subcommittee.  The testimony addressed two Ohio Public Affairs top priorities; expanding Medicaid eligibility for pregnant women from the current 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) to 200% FPL and requesting state funds for the Ohio Connection for Children With Special Needs program (OCCSN), the state birth defects tracking system.

With over 250 people in the room and 70 people scheduled to testify, Dr. Hayes did a flawless job of delivering the testimony.  Not a person left there without being touched by his personal story about how he got involved with the March of Dimes and the loss of his young son, Ben.  At that moment the March of Dimes mission became obvious to everyone.

Immediately following our testimony, the Chair of the Committee, Representative Jimmy Stewart from Albany, Ohio in Athens County, came out into the hallway and spoke with Chris. Chris invited him to Athens WalkAmerica and to be a member of Ben’s team, one of the largest family teams in the country.
