March of Dimes French Master Chefs Auction Connects LaSalle High School Graduate with Dinner with Shayne Graham
Cincinnati, Ohio [June 14, 2007] – 2007 LaSalle High School graduate Spencer Hollenkamp received a sensational graduation gift of having dinner on Saturday, May 26, 2007 with Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham and his fiancée, Heather Syme, at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse. “This graduation present was one I will always remember,” said Spencer Hollenkamp. “I thoroughly enjoyed having dinner with Shayne Graham, who has done a lot not only on the football field but also in the community for the March of Dimes and other worthwhile organizations. He’s an inspiration to my three friends and to myself.” Spencer and his three fellow graduates, Kyle Lohbeck, Ryan Nerswick, and Ben Robers, were joined by Bridgetown residents Jerry and Nancy Hollenkamp, who purchased this Night on the Town with Shayne Graham at the October 2006 March of Dimes French Master Chefs Gourmet Gala. Also in attendance were WCPO-TV chief meteorologist Steve Raleigh and his wife, Julie Raleigh, chair of the 2006 March of Dimes French Master Chefs Gourmet Gala, along with Suz and John Banchy, March of Dimes State Director for the Ohio Chapter. The 2007 March of Dimes French Master Chefs Gourmet Gala is set for Saturday, October 27 at the Hyatt Regency. At this annual, black tie function, which seeks to raise
awareness and funds for babies born too soon and too small, the March of Dimes will honor Dianne Dunkelman, CEO of The National Speaking of Women’s Health Foundation. Dunkelman founded Speaking of Women’s Health in 1995 as a one-day women’s health event. Her leadership has been the inspiration for the expansion to a national foundation with 50 conferences in 40 cities nationwide, including Universal Sisters conferences for African-American woman and Hablando de la Salud de la Mujer conferences for Hispanic women. Her work has drawn national attention and earned numerous awards, including the National Conference for Community and Justice Citation Award (2004) and the YWCA Career of Achievement Award (2001). Donna Wymore of Wymore & Associates serves as chair of this year’s event. Wymore is a member of the board of directors for the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky division of the March of Dimes, and previously chaired the first chefs event in 2000 as well as subsequent gourmet galas in 2001 and 2005. Additional details regarding the 2007 French Master Chefs Gala will be announced in the months ahead. All proceeds from the event will benefit March of Dimes’ research, education and advocacy to prevent premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality.
