Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky….and Bears, Oh my!

A Migration of Bears Coming to the Streets of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
A Chance for You to Invest in Giving Every Baby a Healthy Start! Cincinnati, OH – October 2007 – In the shadows of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, lurks a furry family that’s on a very important mission. The bevy of bears, ranging in height from 18 inches to 4 feet tall, is being watched very closely by leaders in both communities and resources are being collected right now to make sure everyone knows when the “bears that care” are in town! The cute creatures will come out of hibernation soon and you don’t want to miss your chance to get involved in this “Beary” special event!
In spring of 2008, the March of Dimes will introduce a brand new public art event on the streets of ourlocal communities. We are proud to introduce you to the Bear Affair presented by Charmin. The event will draw citizens to our downtown and surrounding areas and hopefully bring visitors from around the region. It’sour goal to showcase the area’s new developments, revitalization, and array of tourist attractions, while also raising money for the March of Dimes mission to prevent premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality.
The Greater Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky March of Dimes is encouraging all businesses to get involved with this unique opportunity to help save babies’ lives. Volunteers are asking local businesses and companies to sponsor a bear for charity. There are four affordable levels of bear sponsorships ranging from Grand Papa Bear Level to Baby Bear level. Sponsors’ contributions help underwrite the cost of the local artists who will paint a coat of colors on each loveable bear. The contributions also pay for the bears’ molds, bases, and installation. While we need commitments now, this is a 2008 event and sponsorships do not have to be paid until early 2008. This is a great chance for local businesses and artists to showcase their community support!
Dozens of businesses have been contacted and many are already signing up for this chance to get involved in their community. Interested businesses and artists are asked to contact the March of Dimes for more information at 513-769-3588.. The Bear Affair is presented by Charmin.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the March of Dimes research, education, and support programs. “Bear” In mind…this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!
