(Cincinnati, Ohio) —Thanks to 175 bikers, and their friends and families, more babies in Ohio will get a healthy start, as Bikers for Babies exceeded its goal and raised more than $75,000 for the March of Dimes! 
 Funds raised by Bikers for Babies support lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies including: The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Infant Mortality Summit, a campaign to expand newborn screening, and laying the groundwork for a state birth defects information system. Funds also went towards protecting Medicaid eligibility, funding and benefits, and ensuring that tobacco settlement dollars are used for smoking cessation programs for pregnant women.

 According to the Corporate Chairman of the event, Fred Kohnke, President and CEO of CBS Personnel Holdings Inc., this year’s ride offered a wonderful route with an amazing collection of kind hearted participants. “I can’t think of a more deserving cause than the health of all babies.” Kohnke added. “The March of Dimes Bikers for Babies is a unique way for people to have a great time while also helping a great organization.”
 Bikers for Babies Chair Kara Kasee said, “I love feeling the power of this event—both of the hundreds of bikes, plus the thousands of dollars we’re raising here to help babies get a healthy start.”

Millions of babies have been saved from death or disability thanks to advances made by March of Dimes funded scientists. But too many babies are still born prematurely or with birth defects. Every year, thousands of compassionate motorcyclists across the country show they care by taking part in Bikers for Babies, sponsored nationally by Farmers Insurance Group.
