The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
Community Programs

Comenzando Bien
Comenzando bien is the March of Dimes prenatal education program for Hispanic women. It was developed in partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and is culturally and linguistically appropriate for Hispanic women.



Project Alpha
This collaborative project of the March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. provides young males with education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.




Stork's Nest
Stork’s Nest is a cooperative project of the March of Dimes and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. that provides prenatal education and incentives for low-income pregnant women.


Professional Programs

March of Dimes-Johnson and Johnson Pediatric Institute Grand Rounds Program
Beginning in 2003, the traditional national medical and nursing grand rounds grants program were replaced by the new collaborative—March of Dimes-Johnson and Johnson Pediatric Institute Grand Rounds Program.
