This spring, thousands of walkers took to the streets in 19 Oregon and Southwest Washington communities. Their goal was to raise $1 million to save premature babies—and step by step they made it happen. The 2004 WalkAmerica was the most successful ever in the Greater Oregon Chapter. This amazing accomplishment was made possible with the hard work of team captains, walkers and corporate sponsors.
Money raised through WalkAmerica funds research and education efforts to prevent premature birth, the leading cause of newborn death.
