Folic Acid Campaign in Oregon

Since 1998 the March of Dimes has been leading a national education campaign about folic acid and its role in preventing birth defects. In Oregon and Southwest Washington, folic acid awareness efforts have focused on educating women and health professionals about the importance of folic acid in reducing certain birth defects.

Poll Finds Folic Acid Awareness High, But Women Still Not Taking It
Almost 70 percent of American women of childbearing age fail to take the B vitamin folic acid every day even though many of them are aware it helps prevent birth defects, according to the latest survey released in June 2002 by the March of Dimes.

Additional Information Regarding Folic Acid
Informational brochures about folic acid are available from the March of Dimes office near you, by calling 800-244-9255, or at our National Website.

Donating is easy online, by phone or mail / fax.
