Pennsylvania's Harris Brooks Named Chairman of the March of Dimes National Office of Volunteers

HARRIS BROOKS NAMED CHAIRMAN, NATIONAL OFFICE OF VOLUNTEERS FOR MARCH OF DIMES

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA., JULY 15, 2005 – Harris Brooks, chairman of the board and CEO of Choice Health, a management services organization, has been elected Chairman of the National Office of Volunteers of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.

The members of the March of Dimes National Office of Volunteers (NOV) facilitate regular and direct interchange of information and ideas between the foundation’s National Board of Trustees and the chapter leadership from all areas of the country. All efforts of the NOV are focused on helping the March of Dimes realize its mission to serve America’s mothers and babies.

Mr. Brooks has been a volunteer leader of the March of Dimes for more than ten years. Most recently, he served as chairman of the National Office of Volunteer’s Northern Region.

Mr. Brooks has more than 28 years of experience in healthcare. He has served as President and General Manger for CIGNA HealthCare in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and Chairman of the Board for CIGNA HealthCare in Pennsylvania. He has held various senior management positions in hospital administration and the health insurance industry. Mr. Brooks holds the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve and serves as the Senior Air Force Liaison to Civil Authorities for Homeland Security at the regional level, which includes five states, including Pennsylvania.

He is a graduate of Temple University and Thomas Jefferson University, both in Pennsylvania. Mr. Brooks and his wife, Cheryl, have a daughter and two granddaughters. They reside in Warminster, Pennsylvania.

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a five-year campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
