The Rubber Duck Regatta is an annual fundraiser that raised over $15,000 this year in the fight against birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. For months prior to the race, raffle tickets were sold in area businesses for $5.00, and each was accompanied with a souvenir rubber duck and the chance to win one of the five prizes. The 2006 souvenir duck was a train duck, and every year, a new duck design is introduced, making the ducks collector’s items.
Sponsors of the event included: Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, FOX 66, GE Transportation, JET-TV, and Splash Lagoon. The March of Dimes would also like to thank those businesses who contributed to the prize packages and those who helped sell the rubber ducks and raffle tickets to their customers, staff, and clients.
