MARCH OF DIMES PENNSYLVANIA STATE BOARD NAMES NEW CHAIR
(Pittsburgh, PA, APRIL 13, 2007) — The Pennsylvania Chapter March of Dimes is pleased to announce that John W. Hart of Emmaus, Pa., was recently named Chair of the Pennsylvania State Chapter Board of Directors of the March of Dimes.
March of Dimes board members, who serve as volunteers, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission to save babies from birth defects, infant mortality and premature birth.
“We are very pleased that John has accepted the role of Chapter Chair for the March of Dimes, because he shares our goal and commitment to improve the health of babies,” said Joe Bundick, State Director of the Pennsylvania Chapter March of Dimes.
Hart, who is Vice President of Medical Staff Services at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, served for two years as Chair of the East Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the March of Dimes (which includes Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon and Monroe counties). Under his leadership, the regional March of Dimes conducted board workshops, the outcome of which was to reduce the number of special events and refocus staff and board resources. In 2005, the region reported the largest fundraising increase in the state exceeding budgeted revenue for special events by 40%, and overall budget by 24%. The region has been recognized and awarded for excellence in fundraising.
The March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. For more information, visit marchofdimes.com or nacersano.org for Spanish.
