Pittsburgh’s 13th Annual Achievement In Radio (A.I.R.) Awards is an industry-wide competition that honors the hard work, creativity and quality of radio in the greater Pittsburgh market, while supporting the hard work of the March of Dimes.
The A.I.R. Awards is an opportunity for both stations and advertisers to receive recognition for the work they do all year round. Since its Pittsburgh debut in 1996, the A.I.R. Awards has continued to grow as a respected form of recognition of excellence in radio broadcasting, and nearly $325,000 has been raised for the mission of the March of Dimes.
The A.I.R. Awards will culminate with a gala luncheon, which is similar in format to other awards events, such as the Oscars. Awards are presented in categories for: News, Public Affairs, Advertising, Station and Talent.
This year's Lifetime Achievement Honoree is the late Pittsburgh Pirates broadcaster, Bob Prince.
Sponsors include: CBS Radio, Clear Channel Communications, ESPN Radio & Radio Disney, Renda Broadcasting, Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation, Steel City Media and Westwood One.
