• During 2008-2010 (average), the very low birthweight rate in Manhattan was highest for black infants (3.0%), followed by Hispanics (1.4%), whites (1.1%) and Asians (0.6%). 
• Black infants (3.0%) were 5 times as likely as Asian infants (0.6%) to be born very low birthweight during 2008-2010 (average).
