• During 2008-2010 (average), the very low birthweight rate in Charlotte was highest for black infants (3.2%), followed by Asians (1.2%), whites (1.2%) and Hispanics (1.0%). 
• Black infants (3.2%) were about 3 times as likely as Hispanic infants (1.0%) to be born very low birthweight during 2008-2010 (average).
