• During 2008-2010 (average), the very low birthweight rate in Austin was highest for black infants (3.5%), followed by Asians (1.6%), Hispanics (1.2%) and whites (1.2%). 
• Black infants (3.5%) were about 3 times as likely as white infants (1.2%) to be born very low birthweight during 2008-2010 (average).
