• During 2008-2010 (average), the very low birthweight rate in San Antonio was highest for black infants (2.7%), followed by Asians (1.7%), Hispanics (1.6%) and whites (1.4%). 
• Black infants (2.7%) were about 2 times as likely as white infants (1.4%) to be born very low birthweight during 2008-2010 (average).
