After a routine ultrasound at 30 weeks, it was discovered that Braden was too small to survive inside much longer. 2 days later, after receiving steroid shots to help develop his lungs, Braden was delivered by emergency c-section weighing 1 lb. 11 oz. and measuring 12.5 inches long. It was also discovered that he had a true knot in his cord, and would not have made it if he hadn't been delivered so quickly.  After 77 very long days in the NICU, he got to finally come home! He stayed on oxygen for 2.5 more months at home, but continued to thrive.  He is now almost 4 years old and started preschool in the fall. He loves to laugh, play outside and drive all his cars and trucks. He is on a daily steroid inhaler for his immature lungs, but otherwise is a typical toddler! We know how very lucky we are to have him here!!
